No storage can be selected when using Hyper-V and XenDesktop 7

image

When using Hyper-V or System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) as hypervisor for XenDesktop 7, the “Select one or more storage devices for the new virtual machines” dropdown box stays empty.

You need to verify that the account you use has the delegated administrator role or enough rights in SCVMM to see the library and you need shared storage (like a Share or iSCSI or Fiber Channel).

When you changed the storage and the rights, restart the wizard and now you can see the storage from the dropdown menu.

    Hi,
Thanks for the article. The account I use is a full administrator on all servers, SC VMM and the domain, yet the storage dropdown is still blank. It points to a Hyper-V SC VMM environment with hosts having cluster shared volumes. This is supported yet I can see no storage. This is our production environment which works for other systems/vendors. Do you have any ideas?
    Thanks
    Graham

Solved this by manually navigating to the shared HyperV share, re-running the config wizard, and since the storage is now visible select the proper storage location.
