Sequencing Google Chrome 40

In this tutorial I am going to virtualize Google Chrome version 40.

Download the latest version of Google Chrome here

This is an Enterprise edition of the Chrome browser.

Start the sequencer and walkthrough the wizard image

Start Google Chrome Standalone Enterprise.msi image

There is no notification when the installation is finished.

When there is a Chrome icon on the desktop, the installation is completed.

Open regedit and add the following registry key:

Location: “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Google\Update”

Key: AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes

Value: 0

Type: REG_SZ

Empty the value of the following key: “HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager”

Key: PendingFileRenameOperations

Valye: “”

Start Google Chrome. Change all the preferences that your prefer, like;
– The Default start page
– Proxy settings
– Etc.

Remove the old version of Chrome if there is more than Chrome installation folder image
Remove the Installer folder from the Google Chrome folder image
Open master_preferences from the Chrome installation directory and edit or replace the content with:

Save themaster_preferences  file
Open the preferences of the Chrome shortcut and add a start page image
Open Windows Services and disable the service gupdate and gupdatem image
Close the App-V Monitoring phase image

Check if both update services are set to Disabled image
Check if the shortcut is modified image
Allow virtual applications full write access in the VFS image
Save and test
the package.

    Thanks for sharing. When you copy paste the master preference file you have to replace the quotes for ” .
